The longevity of all options is dependent in large part to the skill of the machine operator to ensure the mats
or brushes are only being used when they are needed.
Changing either Mats or Brushes before they are completely worn out is the key to ensuring they are doing the
job they are intended to do. If the wear factor is not monitored and Mats & or Brushes changed as required this
is likely to result in costly re-rolling of the surface and or defects in the finished road surface.
The word from industry is that the new Sakai Multi tyred Roller is the best innovation the road building industry has seen in quite some time. The main feature of this machine is that the tyres are much wider than other multi tyred rollers and the gap between tyres is much smaller which provides the following benefits:
The "Squeezed" Asphalt that forms as a slight peak/ridge between the front tyres during compaction is not as wide and is always flattened down by the back wheels
The Sakai effectively is making 2 passes in 1 go, which speeds up the productivity of this process by 100%
Increases the quality of the road surface, as the final flattening is not reliant on a super conscientious operator to flatten down the ridges
