Neilo Kubota Sweeper Story

In New Zealand 1979, Neil O’Fee was hired by C B Norwood to sell heavy machinery to the farming sector. Neil proved to be an excellent salesman, and C B Norwood promoted him to head of sales for all Kubota products.

Whilst with Norwood, Neil saw a gap in the market. As a result, in 2005, he designed and manufactured a sweeper that was suited to Kubota tractors. Neilo Kubota tractor brooms were born.

Based in Palmerston North, Neil supplied his sweepers to HireWays, a family-owned business, based in the same industrial hub.

HireWays

It wasn’t long into their relationship that Tim Hart, the owner of HireWays, mentioned to Neil that should he ever wish to sell the business to talk to him, as he would be interested. Neil was ready to retire in 2019. They struck a deal, and the rest, as they say, is history.

HireWays has 4 outlets on the North Island of New Zealand and employs some 100 staff. This injection of resources into the Neilo brand has seen a rise in prominence in the NZ and Australian markets.

Becoming a serious player in the Australian sweeper and grader market is a top priority for HireWays, hence their decision to set up an Australian Neilo outlet to further this goal.

Neilo and Kubota join forces

A real winner for end users, Neilo has combined their sweeper know how, with the reliability of Kubota machinery, whereby the Neilo Broom attachment is factory fitted, and the Neilo Kubota tractor sweepers are ready for work.

The Neilo sweeper, Kubota tractor combination is gaining momentum, furthermore Neilo brooms have become a big hit with many of our spray seal and asphalt customers.

Suitable Work

Neilo sweepers can handle most sweeping tasks. However, with Neilo brooms, the debris is not swept to bucket, rather it is swept to the side. Therefore, they are ideally suited to Chip Seal and Asphalt companies.

Kubota B3150, B Series tractor

The Neilo Kubota B3150, B Series sweeper, has a 4-cylinder diesel engine, with a clutch free hydraulic independent PTO, which drives the Neilo 1.75m Neilo Kubota tractor broom.

Kubota L5740 tractor

The big brother of the B3150 is the Kubota L5740. The L5740 has double the horsepower, in short enabling it to drive the larger 2.1m Neilo Kubota broom.

How Bristles, Neilo Sweepers and Kubota Tractors work together

First, our replacement Bristles get fitted onto the Neilo Sweeper, and then you attach the sweeper to the Kubota tractor, and together they sweep, clean and prepare the surface.
