Australian Made and Imported Centre Brooms
Centre Brooms
Single piece Centre brooms, also known as Belly or Main Brooms, for Bucher Macdonald Johnston, Rosmech and City Ray street sweeper as well as Jet Patchers & Paveline brooms, are available as an all Australian made Spirally Wound Version, or in some cases as an Imported Punched Brush style.
About Centre Broom Bristles
To the touch, the Blue Imported Poly punched brooms feel stiffer, this is as a result of the poly bristle going in all directions. However, the Red Australian made Poly Spirally wound broom, where the bristles all go in the same direction, contains the same thickness (0.55”) Poly. Brooms can be made even stiffer by adding wire to the bristle.

Gutter Brooms for All Common Street Sweepers
Gutter brooms, also known as Side, Channel or Edge Brooms, for Bucher Macdonald Johnston, Rosmech Scarab & R6 Regen, Schwarze, Cyclone 770 & RT655, Compact 40, Borschang, Green Machine, CN400 and City Ray street sweepers are available.
The majority of Gutter brooms are Australian made, however to compete with International Sweeper manufacturers, it has become necessary to have the ability to sell imported brooms, made in those overseas factories.
Types of Bristle
Wire Bristle Gutter Brooms; Built using a high tensile spring steel bristle, wire gutter brooms are available in Timber or Plastic Back.
They are supplied as a complete “one piece” broom, for use on Bucher Macdonald Johnson & Rosmech Sweepers.
On the other hand, for Schwarze, Rosmech R6 Regen, Cyclone 770 and RT655 Sweepers, wire gutter brooms are supplied as a “4-Piece” segmental broom are used These brooms
Polypropylene Bristle Gutter and Side Brooms; Commonly built using 0.80” Poly bristle, yet in certain situations a heavier or finer fill may be called for. To demonstrate this, when Brisbane City Council replaced their Mall and Footpath Sweepers in 2014, we worked closely with them to get the right poly fill, after extensive trials, they settled on a fill that lasted approximately twice as long as any poly broom they used.
They are supplied as a complete “one piece” broom, for use on Bucher Macdonald Johnson & Rosmech, Hako, Azzura, Ausa, Green Machine, CN200, CN201 and Compact 40 Sweepers.
On the other hand, for Schwarze, Rosmech R6 Regen, Cyclone 770 and RT655 Sweepers, wire gutter brooms are supplied as a “4-Piece” segmental broom are used These brooms
The Sustainability of Australian Made, Timber Backed, Wire Gutter Brooms
These wire gutter brooms, have a timber head (wood backed), and are Australian made and manufactured under a Sustainability policy. That is to say, wherever possible, they use less energy, less water, create less waste, and furthermore recycling levels are increased.
In short, they are made in a way that works toward looking after the natural environment.
Wire Gutter brooms are available as a complete “one piece” broom as used on Bucher Macdonald Johnson & Rosmech Sweepers and in a “4-Piece” segmental broom as used on Schwarze & Rosmech R6 Regen Sweepers.
Australian Made Metal Backed Poly and Poly/Wire Gutter Brooms
Our metal backed 2, 3 & 4 Rows of Bristle, side brooms are available in either Poly or a poly wire combination. Made to exacting standards, these Hako, Azzura and Ausa sweeper brooms, have been found during extensive trials, by two of our councils, to last 2-3 times longer than other brooms on the market.
Australian Made Moulded Plastic Backed Side Brooms
Our Moulded, Green Plastic Backed, Poly Filled Gutter Brooms are also an Australian made product. The Poly fill is set into a mould that is filled with an impact resistant, recyclable Co-Polymer.
Imported Plastic Backed Gutter Brooms
Black, plastic backed, wire gutter brooms, were initially brought into Australia by Sweeper Manufacturers, as we can only imagine they were cheaper than an Australian made product. To stay in business, we were compelled to offer this imported line of products, even though it goes against the core of who we really are! However, in recent “Covid 19” times, there has been a resurgence around supporting Australian manufacturers from Councils and Contractors around the country.
